Viva Viagra!!

Am I the only man who is just a little nonplussed by the commercial that starts with several men in what appears to be a deserted bar playing various musical instruments and singing to the tune of “Viva Las Vegas” (still miss ya, King) but when they get to the chorus they sing “Viva Viagra”?

Huh?

If they’re so excited to be on Viagra, why are they spending their time with each other in an empty building in the middle of nowhere?

Oh….

Flavonoids and Organic Tomatoes

There’s kind of an interesting post and discussion at the Biodiversity Weblog about a study showing another reason why organic vegetables may be better for you than conventional.

If I may be so bold as to condense a 10 year study into a few words, the basic idea is that many plants have natural defence mechanisms to pests that cause them to produce substances (in this case flavonoids in tomatoes) which seem to have a benefit to human health.

This may be part of the reason organic or home grown produce tastes different too.

Depending on your point of view I suppose, this is either justification for more research into this mechanism in order to devise ways of producing healthier foods, or it’s another reason we should be eating more natural foods.

Rick Ross Narcotics Snitchin!

Rick Ross

So when rappers aren’t busy running their mouth on a record. They’re running their mouth on the radio. The Ramiro and Pebbles Morning Show on Jam’n 94.5 in Boston sat down with Rick Ross on Monday. When asked who the most famous celebrity he has ever smoked weed with the dummy responded, “Bruce Willis. He doesn’t talk too much when he’s high - he’ll just look at you, you know, I’m really smoking with this dude.’You know, I had to introduce him to that African thing, I got him some African.”

Uhhh…I’m sure that Willis smoked with you cause he thought you were cool and could keep his confidence. I’m willing to be that’s the last blunt you share with the Die Hard Trilogy star. (He also named dropped smoke sessions with Snoop and Too short but no one will blink an eye at that.) With all the talk about “Stop Snitchin” in the rap game cats stay running their mouth with the quickness. Your name sake Freeway Ricky Ross probably wouldn’t be feeling that too tough homeboy.

Mac Users: A Note on Adobe Keyboard Shortcuts

[OS X 10.5] While having a Volume, Brightness, Pause/Play buttons integrated into my keyboard may be convenient, it really drives me crazy that my function keys don’t, well…function like I want them to in Photoshop. (or illustrator, etc.) I want to show you a way that I managed to get around this while keeping the functionality of the media buttons at the same time.

The Recent Expansion of Extraterritoriality in Patent Infringement Cases

The rapid pace of globalization has intensified the desire to expand the territorial reach of United States law to determine patent infringement. In an unprecedented move, the Federal Circuit, in AT&T v. Microsoft Corp., held that copying in a foreign country software made in the United States infringed United States patents under United States law. This decision holds a defendant liable for activity occurring entirely outside of the United States. Perhaps, this case reflects aspects unique to the technological nature of software. If so, this decision violates the fundamental principle that all forms of invention are to receive the same treatment under the patent laws without discrimination.
