Preventing Identity Theft - Monitor Your Bank Accounts by Phone or Online
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Roger_Passman]Roger Passman
Identity theft is a major contributor to damaging your credit. What makes the problem far worse is that you will spend countless hours collecting evidence and correcting your credit report that might have been spent productively. There are, however, a few simple things you can do to help nip identity theft in the bud. One is to monitor your bank accounts by phone or through the online services provided by your bank.
Monitoring your bank accounts requires that you invest a few minutes two to three times each week that will potentially save you untold hours fixing a problem after the fact. The first step is to choose a bank that offers either online monitoring of your account or telephone monitoring of your account–or both. If the bank does not offer either that bank is living in the stone ages and should be avoided. Once you choose a bank that offers these services, you must be willing to invest a few minutes every few days to look for checks or debit card transactions that appear to be questionable.
It helps, of course, when you are monitoring your account to keep an accurate record of each and every check written or debit card transaction you made. Accurate records will allow you to check the bank’s records to see if they match your own. In checking your transactions you must take into account those checks written that have not yet cleared. If you do this your account balance and your bank’s records should reflect the same figure.
When you are monitoring your account you must look for any transaction that is questionable or unrecognized. Identity theft is not the only reason that a transaction is not recognized. Banks make errors from time to time. If you think your bank made an error or if there are transactions that you do not recognize or cannot otherwise account for, call your bank’s customer service department immediately and start an investigation. It is to your benefit to do so–even if the mistake is in your favor. You put the bank on notice that your identity might have been stolen and you set the wheels in motion to correct any bank error that occurred. Remember, a bank error in your favor is not a gift to you.
If you discover that your identity has been stolen take all of the proper steps to fix the problem. The earlier you are able to intervene on your behalf the easier it will be to correct the problem.

Usually we do not take particular notice on where we park our cars, so long as it is a valid spot and we are reasonably sure we won’t get tickets for it. However, there are times where we should be more careful on choosing a parking spot, and here are two instances that illustrate the point very well.

Perodua Kancil reduced to metal sheet
The first collage of pictures shows a Perodua Kancil being reduced to a sheet of metal not higher than 2 feet. Apperantly this happened outside a factory in Penang. A semi-trailer fell over the unsuspecting Kancil that was parked next to it. Luckily no one was hurt, it is not clear if insurance covers such incidents.

Proton Satria hit by fallen tree
Parking under a tree gives you shade, if you can put up with the occasional bird droppings. However, during a thunderstorm, this tree snapped under the strong wind and came down upon the Proton Satria that was parked directly underneath it. Luckily the car only sustained minor damages on the hood and side fender.
So, think again when you park your car, and make sure you pull the handbrake too!

If you’re a college student and you’re reading my blog right now, here’s something for you to think about: How important is it, really, to do well on the first test in a course?
You can always go back and catch up on the beginning stuff any time during the semester- and a semester is a long time. Also, there are usually several other grades that can pull up a bad first test. So how bad can bombing the first test possibly be?
Here’s a chart showing a comparison between students’ grades on their first test and their final course grades. There are about 90 students plotted. Students who withdrew from the course were not included since they had no final course grade to plot.
![[Final grades vs. Test 1 grades, 450px]](wp-content/uploads/17284.jpg)
The yellow box shows all students who both “bombed” their first test with a score of 60 or below and brought their grade back up to make at lease a “C” in the course. Notice how few students appear in that box: three.
So yes, it is pretty important to do well on the first test. Passing the first test doesn’t guarantee success in a course, but failing it almost always leads to failing the course. Think about that before you head out to another late-night party the night before your test!

It is very important to plan your personal budget if you want to build your wealth. In fact, you will still need to have a personal budget even if you do not have any financial goal. You need a budget such that you will not spend all your money before the end of each month. As a matter of fact there are a lot of people who will spend all they earn in the middle of a month.
The first thing you need to do in order to plan a personal budget is to reveal how you spend the money. It is not difficult to do such thing. All you need to do is to keep track of your purchases. You will try to recording your every purchase so that you will know how and where you spend your money. Remember, you have to know your regular and variable expenses so that you can plan how you can save more money.
Then you will try your best to get rid of all your debts. So you have to firstly try not to create more debts. You will need to stop using your credit card in this case. Then you have to allocate a certain amount of money to repay the debts. This will form part of your budget.
You should calculate the total minimum payment you need to settle for all the debts every month. However, only settling the minimum payment will not help you to get rid of the debts. As a result, you have to pay more that the minimum payment.
You can settle the debts one by one. For example, if you have three credit card debts and the minimum payment of each of them is $50. Then you may try to allocate $180 a month. You will pay $80 for one of the cards and the other two you will pay the minimum. By doing this you will be able to get rid of the debts soon.
The next step is to plan how much you can save every month. If you find that the above is already more than the amount you make every month, you have to cut some expenses. For example, you have already known the variable expenses in the first step. And you will try to cut the unnecessary expenses.
Try to make a commitment to yourself. You have to be determined to save some money every month.
In fact, it is easy to talk about the above plans. However, you will find it a bit difficult when you try to execute it. However, the above should help you to have a balance budget and at the same time build up your wealth. As a result you should try your best to do it.

Mercedes Benz brought to Geneva, besides other cars, the new SL 63 AMG.I don’t know if â€new†is accurate since it only received a facelift. This model will replace the SL 55 AMG and comes with all new bodykit, darkened headlamps and tail-lights and new 19-inch alloy wheels.

The power is provided by a 6,3 litre V8 that doesn’t let you down with its 525 HP and 630 Nm.That’s much better than the old SL 55 AMG but when we look at the actual performance figures we see that the 63 is slower to 100 km/h with 0,2 seconds.

The suspension and gear box will also be brand new making the car as safe and as confortable to drive as possible.
